The Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office earlier issued a circular regulating the opening hours of entertainment venues dyeing this year's Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr. In the letter, the Jakarta government requires several types of business to cease their operations from the day before Ramadan until the Day after the Eid.
These venues include nightclubs, discos, massage parlors, and bars, among others. The circular also mandates the closure of hotels or tourist areas that are integrated into the nightlife businesses that are prohibited from operating.
