TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) planned to meet the Royal Malaysia Police to discuss the investigation into the precast voting ballots for the 2019 general elections. The Bawaslu team is presently still in the neighboring country to further investigate the findings.

“We will meet the Royal Malaysia Police today at 2 p.m. local time. Hopefully, it will clear the issue,” said Bawaslu head Abhan in the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs building, Jakarta, on Monday, April 15.

Abhan said he had yet to know the developments of the investigation into the case, yet he assured the Bawaslu team was still in Malaysia to collect more evidence relative to the case.

Earlier, the board received reports related to precast ballots in Selangor through a viral video on social media. In the footage, it appears that the ballots have been cast for theJokowi-Ma’ruf Amin ticket and for some legislative candidates. In light of the findings, the Bawaslu called for a postponement of the elections in Malaysia.

However, the General Elections Commission (KPU) said that it would continue the elections in Malaysia and ensured the precast ballots would not be counted.
