TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesman for the Directorate General of Taxation Hestu Yoga Saksama announced there were only 10.93 million individual and institution taxpayers that have filed their annual tax return forms (SPT Pajak) up to Saturday, March 30.

“From the listed taxpayers there were 18.3 million annual tax return forms, which is just 59.7 percent,” said Hestu in a text message to Tempo on Sunday, March 31.

According to Hestu, 93 percent of the tax reports were filed using the online e-filing method and he believes that personal taxpayers will still report their tax returns up to Monday, April 1.

Previous reports state that Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced the government is hinting on receiving 15,584,481 annual tax returns (85 percent of the total taxpayers)

The Finance Ministry also announced it extended SPT reporting period to Monday, April 1, which will not fine people that fail to report their SPT pajak on time.
