TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police say that the journalist who was assaulted by Hercules Rozario Marshall should file a report to the authorities.

"If anyone was hit, file a report," Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said here on Thursday, March 28.

The incident happened on Wednesday, March 27, when Hercules was about to attend his conviction hearing at the West Jakarta State Court.

The defendant was coming out of the prisoners' van when he suddenly started chasing after reporters while yelling angrily. He was apparently upset because the reporters were taking pictures of him.

Hercules chased around the reporters for about a minute before the police secured him. A Viva.co.id journalist, Foe Simbolon, got his right hand kicked and suffered bruises.

The West Jakarta chief of police, Sr. Comr. Hengki Haryadi, said they have reprimanded Hercules for what happened and warned him that his behavior might lead to another criminal charge.
