TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asserted that his administration would fully manage the tourism in Thousand Islands regency or Seribu Islands so as to create a one-door management and allow Jakartans to interact directly with the Jakarta administration.
“Many entities and institutions are willing to take part in the tourism management of Thousand Islands, but I have ordered yesterday, I have asserted, the management will be under the Jakarta administration,” said Anies on Pramuka Island, Friday, March 22.
Anies explained that the central government had tapped the Thousand Islands as a tourist destination or National Tourism Strategic Areas (KSPN), which had attracted the interest of many institutions in joining the management.

During the development planning meeting (Musrenbang), Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) deputy speaker Muhamad Taufik questioned Anies Baswedan’s promise on the planned tourism development in Thousand Islands regency.
“The council is wondering about the development of potential tourism in Thousand Islands,” said Taufik, adding that the locals had filed complaints about transportation, clean water, sanitation system, waste management, the supplies of staple goods, and electricity, among others.
Taufik hoped those issues would be overcome during the Musrenbag meeting.
