TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Administration collaborates with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) to develop infrastructure and wastewater management in Seribu Islands, to boost its tourism.
The cooperation was signed through a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the infrastructure development in Kepulauan Seribu was often overlooked because it was separated from the mainland of Jakarta.
“Jakarta not only consists of land, but there are islands, so we want to be serious to build and develop the islands,” the governor said Friday, September 28.
According to Anies, it includes the installation of clean water pipes, wastewater system, and power lines. “I underline the infrastructure needed by the community that supports the activities inside and outside the household,” said Anies.
The Jakarta`s Seribu Islands is included in the development project of the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN). The project is planned to include Tidung Island and Untung Jawa Island.
