Tourist Drowns in Waters of Seribu Islands

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A tourist named Rangga Eka Hutama, 27 years old, died from drowning in the waters of Semak Daun Island, Seribu Islands, on Monday, December 31.
The Seribu Islands regent Husein Murad said Rangga Eka was registered as a resident of Kampung Melayu Timur, Tangerang regency, Banten. He came to Semak Daun Island with six friends. They departed from Rawasaban Tangerang Port to Pramuka Island and headed to Semak Daun Island, Seribu Islands.
Upon arriving at Semak Daun Island, Rangga and his three friends swam in the sea.

“Allegedly, because he could not swim, he finally drowned,” Husein said.
His friends helped Rangga but he was already unconscious. He was immediately rushed to Pulau Pramuka Hospital, Seribu Islands. “Arriving at the hospital, Rangga was declared dead,” Husein said.
