KNKT: Lion Air JT 610 Final Investigation Report Issued Mid 2019

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) is eyeing on finishing the final investigation report of the Lion Air flight JT 610 crash in August or September of 2019.
“The final report is scheduled to be published between August and September,” said KNKT Chief Soerjanto Tjahjano at the KNKT headquarters on Thursday, March 21.
According to Soerjanto, the committee has worked with Boeing engineers and FAA upon reconstructing the final flight of Lion Air JT 610 and thoroughly discussed the MCAS software system in the recently grounded Boeing 737 MAX 8.
Other than the aircraft’s technical features, KNKT will also include the key moment recordings contained in the salvaged black boxes which house the voice recordings of the ill-fated Lion Air aircraft into its final investigation report.
“The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) will be used and announced as it essentially is because we wouldn’t be able to conduct analysis without it,” said Nurcahyo who asserts the CVR recording will not be published in its entirety.
The KNKT chief also said that his team has managed to gather 90 percent of the essential data to complete the report.
