TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - University of Indonesia’s professor and researcher Inaya Rakhmani argues that the solutions to overcome Indonesia’s unemployment rate offered by both Ma’ruf Amin and Sandiaga Uno would be difficult to implement.
She explained that the strenuous idea put forth by the two vice presidential candidates in the presidential debate on Sunday is mainly hampered by the instability of the global employment market.
“The change is rapid across the globe and is closely linked to technological disruption. So, the social reality of the job industry is currently unstable,” said Inaya in the VP candidate debate discussion held at Tempo headquarters on Sunday, March 17.
The University of Indonesia`s (UI) science communication professor stated that what Indonesia needs right now is the ability to adjust to rapid global growth and changes that come with it. Her argument directly criticizes the vocational school revitalization offered by the VP candidates.
