KPK chief Agus Rahardjo confirmed that the chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Romahurmuziy was arrested during a sting operation (OTT) in East Java, on Friday, March 15. instagram.com/romahurmuziy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Agus Rahardjo confirmed that the chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Romahurmuziy was arrested during a sting operation (OTT) in East Java.

“That’s right, [KPK] runs OTT in East Java,” said Agus in a written statement today, March 15.

Romahurmuziy or commonly known Romy is currently grilled by anti-graft body investigators at the East Java Police headquarter.

The legal status of Romy will be determined after the investigation. KPK has 1 x 24 hours after the operation to decide the matter. Generally, the arrested people who are named as a suspect will be detained immediately.

“Just wait for a press conference in KPK tonight or tomorrow morning (Saturday),” Agus said.
