TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A chairman of a national political party is reportedly arrested during a sting operation (OTT) run by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in East Java province. The Chief of East Java Police did not deny the report.
East Java Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Frans Barung Mangera confirmed that the anti-graft officers conducted a sting operation in his region.
Barung explained a chairman of an Indonesian political party was arrested in the act, and the investigation is still undergoing at East Java Police headquarter.
“The information is true, but ask KPK for more info,” said Barung when contacted today, March 15.
As of press time, KPK has not released any confirmation yet regarding the OTT. KPK has 1 x 24 hours after the operation to determine the legal status of the arrested people.
