TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Administration is reportedly ready to finally let go of its shares in beer producer PT Delta Djakarta in 2019. This process will initially kick off by naming the city’s shareholding under the Jakarta Provincial Administration (Pemprov DKI) and Jakarta’s Equity Investment and Management Board (BP-IPM Jaya).

“We’ve changed the name BP-IPM to Pemprov DKI. Because if it stayed as BP-IPM the shares wouldn’t be able to be sold, the BP-IPM is non-existent now,” said Riyadi, acting head of the Regional-Owned Business Entity Development Agency (BP-BUMD) at City Hall on March 4.

According to Riyadi, the BP-IPM Jaya was known as the city’s regional working units (SKPD) was disbanded back in the 2000s and in order to sell those shares, the Jakarta provincial administration needs to take over the shares.

By taking charge of BP-IPM’s 2.91 percent shares, Pemprov DKI’s share in PT Delta equates to a total of 26.25 percent.

“We are eyeing on selling the shares this year,” said Riyadi.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno were known for their moral promise to let go of the city’s shares in PT Delta during the campaign for Jakarta’s 2017 Gubernatorial Election. Entering their second year administration, the shares have yet been sold.
