TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Resort Police arrested a group of thieves who stole a cargo at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The police arrested five suspects and confiscated 993 pieces of garments with the ASICS brand.

"The suspects plotted to steal the goods belonging to PT Daedong International, which were about to be shipped to Korea via the Soekarno-Hatta Airport cargo," Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief Sr. Comr. Viktor Togi Tambunan said on Friday, February 21.

On September 26, 2018, the suspects received shipping packages from PT Daedong Internasional, Ciawi, Bogor. The garment company wanted to send 197 packages containing 3,897 pieces of ASICS brand garments through cargo from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The package was then sent on board Garuda Indonesia to Incheon, Korea. However, when the package arrived in South Korea, 993 pieces of the garment were missing.

The company then reported this loss to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport police station.

The five suspects, age raging between 36 and 53, are charged with planned theft and weighting.

Viktor said that the police are still pursuing another suspect who is still at large.
