South Sulawesi Flood, Landslides Affect Thousands of People

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - South Sulawesi`s Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded at least 18 people dead caused by the string of floods and landslides that hit the region’s districts and city area.

“This data was compiled from the South Sulawesi health agency and agriculture up to 21:30 Central Indonesia Time (WITA),” said the Head of region’s BPBD Syamsibar on Wednesday night.

Moreover, 46 people were reportedly injured and 24 people missing with a total amount of people affected by the floods and landslide reaching up to 5,825 people with 3,321 taking refuge.

Other affected areas in South Sulawesi include Gowa, Makassar, Soppeng District, Wajo District, and Maros.
