Lampung Police Open Post for Missing People due to Tsunami

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Lampung Police open a post for missing people due to the tsunami that hit the coastal area of Lampung.

“We have opened a post for missing people in Kalianda, South Lampung,” said Lampung Police spokesperson, Sr. Comr. Sulistyaningsih, when contacted in Bandarlampung, Thursday, December 27.

The public can also report their families, relatives, or friends to the service center at 082175644446 and 082175644445.

The Lampung Police have deployed 1,206 personnel and assisted by joint personnel from other agencies to evacuate residents around the coast of South Lampung.

The Lampung Police noted that as of Wednesday, December 26, the death toll caused by the tsunami in Lampung was 112 people and 110 of them were identified. A total of 107 bodies have been taken by their families.

The Sunda Strait tsunami hit parts of Banten and Lampung on Saturday night, December 22. The affected areas are Pandeglang, Serang, and Lampung Regencies.
