Tsunami in Banten, Lampung; Electricity Recovery Reach 95 Percent

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The electricity recovery due to tsunami carried out by the state-owned electricity company PT PLN in the Banten and Lampung regions is still ongoing.
The Executive Vice President of Corporate Communication & CSR of PLN, I Made Suprateka said the electricity recovery in the Sunda Strait tsunami affected area had reached 95 Percent.
In the Pandeglang area, PLN has turned on all the substations. In Lampung, out of the 22 power-outage substations, 20 substations were successfully turned on.
The obstacles to the electricity recovery process are road access that is still in the process of cleaning by PU and bad weather. In Pandeglang, 310 joint personnel deployed were from UID Banten, UID Jakarta, UID Jabar.
“This joint team has succeeded in turning on 238 substations from the total outages, namely 248 substations,” Suprateka said in a written statement on Wednesday, December 26.
To normalize while the other 4 substations, Suprateka said, PLN also turned on generator sets. In Lampung, 40 joint personnel deployed were from ULP Kalianda, ULP Sidomulyo, ULP Sutami, and UP3 Tanjung Karang.
“With a total achievement today, it means that PLN managed to normalize all substations that were previously experienced a power outage for the Pandeglang and Lampung regions,” he said.
Made added, the effort of electricity recovery and the delivery of basic food assistance were also carried out in isolated areas such as Sabesi Island, Lampung and Sumur village, Pandeglang District.
PLN also provides information for 22 refugee posts located in Pandeglang.
