Jakarta Allocate Additional Rp199bn for Education in Bantargebang

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government has allocated additional budget for the mandatory financial aid for the Bekasi city administration. The additional budget of Rp199 billion is allocated for the provision of educational facilities in the Bantargebang district.
For the education of Bantargebang children, we approved the proposal submitted by the Bekaci city government," Premi Lasari, head of the Jakarta governance bureau, said here on Tuesday, November 6.
Premi said Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi agreed to make an addendum to the cooperation agreement on the compensation fund for garbage smell. Bantargebang is known as a dumpster area for Jakarta's waste and garbage.
Afterwards, the Bekasi Mayor proposed to get an education fund for the children living in Bantargebang to which Jakarta approved.
With the additional allocation, the Jakarta government will be allocating a mandatory fund of Rp338 billion for Bantargebang in the 2019 regional budget.
"The special financial assistance that we must pay is Rp 338 billion," Premi said.
