"They were caught red-handed by patrolling officers of the Pamulang Police Precinct," South Tangerang chief of police Adj. Sr. Comr. Ferdy Irawan said on Friday.
Ferdy said that around 05:00 this morning the patrol officers saw four suspicious men in front of a grocery store.
"They were riding a black minivan. When the police moved to arrest them, they resisted," he added.
The robbers tried to hit the police with their car and fired shot at the officers. The police shot back at them, hitting three out of the four men.
