Gus Ipul Angered by Students Yelling `2019 Ganti Presiden` Video

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the East Jakarta’s Indonesian Scout Movement (Pramuka) Saifullah “Gus Ipul” Yusuf voiced his disdain against a 20 second viral video that saw a number of Pramuka students cheering the chant to switch the presidency in 2019, known as 2019 Ganti Presiden.
“I protest immensely against the video that knowingly politicized Pramuka and dragged the children into the practical politics realm,” tweeted Gus Ipul in his Twitter account on Monday, October 15.
Gus Ipul called for the Kwarnas Pramuka to legally process the video and the people that made the content as soon as possible. The Kwarnas Pramuka has yet provided any official statement following the of the video emerged in social media.
The video showed a group of students wearing pramuka apparel following the orders of a man that seems to be the group’s guide. The guide then raised his right fist while shouting the ‘takbir’ that was followed by the students, the man then shouted “2019..” which was met with the students calling out “change the president.”
The details upon the video’s whereabouts is yet to be known. Gus Ipul called for the people involved in the production of the video to take responsibility and issue a public apology.
