Asian Games Athletes Offered Position as Govt Employees

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Syafruddin said his ministry is currently formulating a mechanism that will enable Asian Games medalists to enlist as government employees (CPNS) in this year’s recruitment period.
“Yes, athletes don’t need to go through tests,” said Syafruddin yesterday. However, he is unable to guarantee the position and ministry where the athletes will end up in before the formula is complete.
Previously, Syafruddin said that he will register the athletes that won medals throughout the 2018 Asian Games and offer the athletes a position as a government employee, if accepted, the athletes will not go through the normal selection process.
“This is for athletes that won gold, silver, and bronze medals in the 2018 Asian Games,” Syafruddin explained.
Temporary data from the ministry suggests that there are already 50 athletes listed so far. “Non-medal winning athletes can participate in the CPNS selection process in October,” he further explained.
