TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democrat Central Board Party (DPP) Chairman, Didik Mukrianto, said the party`s Deputy Secretary General Andi Arief was not intentionally absent from the summons of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) on Monday, August 20.
Andi is scheduled to be examined by Bawaslu as a witness for the report of the alleged political dowry entangling the vice president candidate Sandiaga Uno.
“Yesterday, Andi failed to attend [the examination] because he held a wedding the day before in Bali. Andi will attend the next summons,” Didik said at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 21.
Didik admitted that the Democrat’s attitude was different from what was believed by Andi. Institutionally, the party will fully support the Prabowo-Sandiaga as the presidential candidate.
“If Andi obtained the information he believes, he must process it; clarify and prove whether it is true or not,” he said.
On the internal side, the Democrat had given signs reminding the cadres to fight for the party’s choice.
Didik said the issue about Andi who was summoned by Bawaslu following his statement about the political dowry from Sandiaga to PAN and PKS was part of the clarification. “We give Bawaslu the opportunity to process and prove it,” he said.
