TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - To commemorate the 73rd Indonesian Independence Day, state-owned railway operator KAI 8 Surabaya operation area (Daop) offers a special ticket at Rp73,000 dubbed Merdeka Promo.
KAI Surabaya spokesperson Gatut Sutiyatmoko said the firm would operate five trains to acommodate the promo namely KA Argo Bromo Anggrek (Surabaya Pasarturi-Gambir), KA Harina Surabaya (Pasar Turi-Bandung), KA Gumarang (Surabaya Pasar Turi-Pasar Senen), KA Malioboro Ekspres (Yogyakarta-Malang), and KA Mutiara Timur (Banyuwangi Baru-Surabaya Gubeng).
The promo is valid for executive, business, economy class of medium to long-distance train and that last for 7 days starting August 13 to 15 and August 27-30, 2018.
“The would-be passengers should concern that the ticket can be voided and re-scheduled, but it cannot be combined with other promo or discount,” said Gatut in Surabaya, Sunday, August 12.
KAI has prepared 1,708 seats per day during the program.
“The ticket can be purchased or booked starting today [August 13] via KAI Access application in Android/iOS-based smartphone,” he said.
Gatut went on to say that the promo during the celebration of Indonesian Independence Day is part of KAI appreciation for its loyal passengers and hopefully, the public could utilize the offer for their trip by using railway transportation.
