Jakarta Governor and Deputy under Spotlight for Recent Reshuffle

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno stated that he has yet heard back from the State Civilian Bureaucracy Commission (KASN) regarding the reshuffle of Echelon II Jakarta government officials.
“I have yet heard about [any criticism]. But for sure we rejuvenated [the government] under legal provisions,” said Sandiaga Uno at Jakarta’s city hall on Monday, July 16.
However, Sandiaga said that he is open to any form of criticism and will coordinate the acting-Head of Jakarta’s Personnel Agency Budihastuti to discuss inputs given by the KASN.
As previously reported the KASN Assistant Commissioner of complaints and investigation Sumardi said that the reshuffle of Jakarta’s echelon II Officials is potentially unconstitutional and against the state regulation overseeing government employees.
Sumardi argued that the Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor should have given more time for underperforming Echelon II Officials before reshuffling them, which he mentioned is in accordance to Article 118 of Law No. 5/2014.
Sumardi added that the recruitment process of Jakarta’s Echelon II Officials members adopted by Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Sandiaga Uno that was made through an open selection process is suspected to violate the rules.
