TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has extended the work period of the acceleration team for the investigation on Novel Baswedan`s attack by three months. With the extension, the team will be working until August 19, 2018.

"The team's working period is extended because it takes time to clarify some data," the team's chairman Sandrayati Moniaga said here on Wednesday, May 23.

The team began collecting and clarifying evidence for the case in February. They were supposed to be working only until May, but they encountered time constraints.

Sandrayati said there have been requests by certain parties--asking more time to "clarify" pieces of evidence. On that basis, Komnas HAM extended the working period of the investigation team.

One of the pieces of evidence that have not been collected due to time constraints is a security camera footage from one of Novel Baswedan's neighbors' home. The video should have footages of when Novel's attackers threw acid on him. Sandrayati said it has been difficult to meet with the home-owner.
