TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of police officers who died in the Police`s Mobile Brigade headquarters or Mako Brimob in Kelapa Dua, Depok, has increased. One officer of Brimob’s Intelligence Unit Chief Brig. Marchum Prencje (41) was stabbed by an unidentified man.
The incident occurred on late Thursday, May 10, at 23:45 in front of Bhayangkara Hospital, Kelapa Dua, Depok.
Jakarta Police Spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono confirmed the incident. “Yes, it’s right,” Argo told Tempo today, May 11.

At around 23:00, the officer who stood guard near the hospital saw a suspicious man looking at Mako Brimob whom then brought to the police officer. During the probe, the man, Tendi Sumarno (23) stabbed the officer several times in the toilet. Hearing the shout, two other officers First Brig. Mato and First Brig. Gruisce shot dead the suspect at the crime scene.
Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) chairman Neta S. Pane expressed his regret regarding the incident took place after the Mako Brimob riot that claimed five lives of guards. According to IPW, TS was alleged with two other people at that night. “They allegedly brought bombing material,” said Neta.
At the time the news published, the police spokesmen Brig. Gen. Mohammad Iqbal and Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasisto have yet further released a statement on the tragedy in Mako Brimob.
