TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said he has called Mahathir Mohamad to congratulate the new Malaysia`s Prime Minister last night at 21:55.
“I congratulated the winning of Pekatan Harapan in the 14th general election yesterday,” said Jokowi to Mahathir, Thursday, May 10.
Jokowi lauds the establishment of the voting in Malaysia that went smoothly. “I’m glad to hear the democratic process runs smoothly and safely,” he said.

Mahathir Mohammad has become Malaysian Prime Minister after having been sworn in State Palace, Damansara, Malaysia, on Thursday night, May 10. Mahathir is re-elected against the incumbent candidate Najib Razak.
Mahathir became the seventh prime minister of Malaysia. It is his second position after becoming prime minister for 22 years in 1981-2003.
President Jokowi believes the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia under Mahathir's reign will be getting better. "I wish Mr. Mahathir will always be healthy to run the mandate of Malaysian people," said the president.
