TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has decided to not revise the regulation on the additional collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1439 H. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Puan Maharani stated the joint decree (SKB) of three ministers is valid.
“So the SKB will be valid with a follow-up circular letter from the ministers,” said Puan in her office today, adding that the decision result considered the social and economic aspects.
Earlier, the government set additional collective leave for 2018 homecoming by issuing the SKB of three ministers signed by Religious Affair Minister Lukman Hakim Saifudin, Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri, and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Asman Abnur on Wednesday, April 18.
The extra days are on June 11-12 and June 20, 2018. Thus, the total holidays for Eid homecoming is seven days.
The regulation aimed at reducing the traffic congestion during Eid homecoming this year. However, it also sparked many criticisms from the entrepreneurs who deemed it is potentially detrimental to the economy.
