Govt Expedites Normalization of Inundated Railway Tracks

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The main route of northern railway track from Cirebon, West Java, to Tegal, Central Java still is still inaccessible since it is inundated by 27 centimeters of flash floods.
"The northern track is cannot be accessed and we were informed that the 27 cm of floods deluged the track," Spokesman of state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)'s Cirebon operationKrisbiyantoro said in Cirebon on Saturday (24/2).
The flash floods struck Tengguli Village of Tanjung District and Losari Kidul Village of Losari District, Brebes Regency, Central Java.
Due to the paralyzed track, PT KAI provided alternatives to passengers either getting a refund or transfer to bus.
"Northern railway tracks as Argo Anggrek andSembrani will be transferred to bus," he said.
"In addition, it is also redirected to south with the route Tegal-Slawi-Prupuk-Ketanggungan-Ciledug- Cirebon," he said.
