TEMPO.CO, Lhoksumawe - Volcanic ash of Mount Sinabung, Tanah Karo regency, North Sumatra Province flies to reach Lhokseumawe city, Aceh province.
Volcanic ash began to down in Lhokseumawe and surrounding areas, on Monday night, February 19, at 19:00 pm, marked by the dust attached to objects that are outside the home, such as vehicles.

Ridha, a 24-year-old Lhokseumawe resident, said he was aware of the volcanic ash at around 7:00 pm when he saw his vehicle was dusty and rough.
Information from the Agency, Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) Aceh mentioned that the impact of the eruption has reached Aceh, even North Aceh. It happened because of the eruption quite strong, said Zakaria from BMKG Aceh.

According to him, the volcanic ash that reaches to North Aceh, Lhokseumawe, and surrounding areas is possible because of the wind direction at an altitude of 5,000 meters, from the southeast at a speed of 5-30 km/hour.
BMKG appeals to the public to reduce activities outside the home and wear a mask when outside, to avoid dust from entering the nose and eyes.
