TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After being named a suspect in the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case and detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setya Novanto’s post as the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) is being challenged. Most of the House factions have urged the Golkar Party chairman to resign.
The DPR Honorary Council (MKD) has responded by scheduling a meeting with faction leaders. The meeting was canceled as some factions were absent. But some House members have voiced their concerns over the issue.

“For the good of the DPR, Setya better resign and be focused on resolving his personal problem.”

“The decision whether to resign is on Setya and Golkar. But I suggest Setya resign.”
