Govt Offers Infrastructure Projects to Nine Countries

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi revealed that the ministry is currently offering 12 strategic infrastructure projects in a meeting with nine countries. The countries include Japan, China, Poland, Hungary, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore.

“I will offer these investments at the bilateral meeting,” said Budi during the Fourth Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Nusa Dua, Bali, September 26.

The 12 projects, according to Budi, consist of projects held in and out of the Java Island. The Java projects will include the Cikarang-Bekasi-Sea canal, Bandung Light Rapid Transit, and Surabaya tram. The projects outside of the Java Island will include the ports in Kalibaru, West Papua, Palembang, and several other airports.

As the result of the One Belt One Road (OBOR) project involving China, the Indonesian government will also discuss the development of transportation infrastructure projects in North Sumatra, Kalimantan, and North Sulawesi. Minister Budi will also discuss the Intelligent Transport System with South Korea and the Non-Convention Vessel Standard (NCVS) with Malaysia.
