Kontras Urges Police to Reveal Mastermind behind Attack on YLBHI

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) coordinator Yati Andriyani has urged the police to reveal the mastermind behind an attack on the Foundation of the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI) office.
“With regard to the name behind it, we believe that it’s part of the obligations of the authorities to investigate the attack on YLBHI,” she said on September 20 in Jakarta.

Yati sees that the besieging and attack on YLBHI office on September 17 are criminal acts. She expects to police to probe into the case and the perpetrators. “The police should also launch an extensive investigation into the intellectual actors behind it,” she said.
Police have named seven suspects after previously arrested 34 individuals linked to the incident. They earlier stage a protest against an event held at the LBH Jakarta office for a suspected links to the communist party (PKI).
