Ahok Not Bothered by Anies' Popularity on Social Media

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Inactive Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok said that he is not bothered by the results of the Indonesia Survey Circle’s (LSI) survey which show that Anies-Sandi pair is the most popular candidate among social media users. In its release on Tuesday, March 21, LSI says that Anies-Sandi pair leads with 46.20 percent, higher than Ahok-Djarot pair.

“I have no problem with it, we’ll see on April 19, 2017 [the election day],” Ahok said on Wednesday in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

“If the survey results matched [the election results] on April 19, 2017, it means that in October 2017 Jakarta will have a new governor named Anies. It’s as simple as that,” Ahok noted.

The LSI survey finds that social media users prefer Anies-Sandi pair compared to Ahok-Djarot. The former garnered 46.20 percent votes, whereas the latter got 43.10 percent.
