TEMPO.CO, Semarang - Semarang Police have secured a suspicious bag located in the courtyard of the GKI Peterongan church on Jalan Kompol Maksum in Semarang, Central Java on Monday evening, January 2, 2017.
The suspicious bag was discovered by Joko Cahyono (42) the church's security guard. Joko said that he had lifted the bag and moved it to the sidewalk of the street. "When I lift the bag, it was heavy," Joko said.
Joko later reported his finding to the South Semarang Precinct police, which later relayed the report to the Semarang Metro Police.
Chief of the Semarang Metro Police Sr. Comr. Abiyoso Seno Aji said that there were no dangerous goods found inside the bag. Abiyoso said that the bag was filled with foods, including rice, bread, honey, and some crackers.
Nevertheless, the Police continue to investigate the suspicious bag. "We are investigating whether the bag was left on purpose or accidentally fell off," Abiyoso said.
