TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, called on Indonesian nationals in the country to be on high alert following escalated threats posed by the Islamic State (IS).
“The embassy is calling on all Indonesians to take anticipative and preventive measures,” Embassy’s head of consular and protocol affairs Windratmo said in a circular letter on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.
Windratmo advised Indonesians to keep valid IDs with them all the time and refrain from staying in crowded places, such as shopping malls, markets, or other spots, for a long time.

“The Indonesian Embassy in Cairo will help by releasing a reporting recommendation letter when necessary,” he added.
