8 Dead Victims in Aceh Quake Have Not Been Identified: BPBD

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pidie Jaya Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that at least 8 victims who died in the quake measuring 6.5 in Richter scale have not been identified.
"In the meantime, 92 dead victims have been identified, bringing the total number of death victims into 100 people," said Head of Public Relations Division of Pidie Jaya BPBD Ridwan on Saturday.
Ridwan added that the search for the victims by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) continues to be done by using heavy equipment.
"According to Basarnas, for today the search will be done in three sub-districts,” he said.
Ridwan added that the number of victims sustaining major and minor injuries due to the quake reaches 565 orang and they have been referred to Bireunn hospital, Sigli hospital, Pidie Jaya hospital, and Banda Aceh hospital.
They have to be sent to those four hospitals for further treatment, Ridwan said.
In the meantime, the number of displaced residents so far has reached 43,000 people scattered in 45 evacuation shelters.
