TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of Public Information of the National Police Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul said that the Police have gathered evidence on the flow of funds in relation to the suspected case of treason. "We will certainly not going to make it public," Martinus said on Thursday, December 8, 2016.

Martinus said that sources of the funds are part of the classified investigation information stipulated in Article 17 of Law No. 14 of 2008 on the Public Information Transparency. "How much money, from who, who receives it, and how many transfer were there, are parts of the investigation substance," Martinus said.

Martinus asserted that the information will only be disclosed in the court of law "and will be made public based on special request." Martinus added that no such requests have been made until today.

Previously, Martinus had stated that the Police have traced a transfer receipt believed to be proof of the recent December 2 demonstration funding.

On the early hours of December 2, 2016, the Police arrested 11 different individuals suspected to be involved in a conspiracy to topple the legitimate government.

Among the arrested were Ratna Sarumpaet, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, Sri Bintang Pamungkas, dan Ahmad Dhani.

Sri Bintang denied the allegations that the December 2, 2016 was funded by certain people. "I only have 15 subordinates, we only have banners, fliers, and flags," Sri Bintang said in the Metro Jaya Police Headquarter on Tuesday, December 6, 2016.

However, Bintang did admit that he is planning to stage a demonstration in front of the House of Representatives building, an action he believed to be legal.

Meanwhile, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri denied the allegations that she had received Rp. 300 million. Rachmawati said that if there was a transfer of funds, it would be intended to provide supplies for the demonstrators.

"[Demonstrators] need to eat and drink. [Rp. 300 million] is not enough to stage treason, it is only enough to buy meatballs and mineral water for the demonstrators," Rachmawati said in a press conference on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
