TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Security, Rescue & Fire Fighting Senior Manager of the Soekarno – Hatta Airport, Tommy Hadi Bawono, confirmed the finding of an alleged explosive device at the Terminal I of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, at 02.30 a.m. "That is correct, the authorities are currently undergoing an investigation following the finding," he told Tempo, Friday, December 2, 2016.
According to Tommy, the airport’s management is currently coordinating with the Military and Police to ensure if the object is an explosive or not. “We’ll explain it [further] after it’s confirmed,” he said.
Rumor said a cleaning service officer of PT GKM, Abdul Halim, stumbled upon two grenade-looking objects inside an outdoor trash can at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport's Terminal 1 A.
Upon the finding, Abdul then reported it to a TIS officer who then reported it to the Aviation Security Officers.
