TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo expressed his support for the national franchise industry. “We (the government) will try our best to support and push the advancement of Indonesia’s franchise industry,” Jokowi said in his opening speech at the Indonesia Franchise & SME Expo (IFSE) Exhibition, held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), on Friday, November 25, 2016.
Indonesia was chosen to host the World Franchise Summit Indonesia (WFSI) 2016.
CEO of the Indonesian Franchise Association (AFI) Anang Sukandar said that AFI continues to provide support and opportunities for the national franchise industry. He hopes that in the future, Indonesia’s franchise industry can compete in the international market. “This exhibition is a chance for our members to showcase (our) products and its excellence to the world,” Anang said.
He stated that the momentum can be used by franchise business players as a chance to partner with or even expand to the foreign market. “So the franchise owners can open a business in other countries.”
The IFSE exhibition opens today until November 27, 2016, starting at 10.00 a.m. to 21.00 p.m. A number of chosen franchise owners will be at the exhibition booths that are targeted to attract 15,000 visitors and transaction value of Rp500 billion.
