TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto officially announced the Illegal Levy Eradication Task Force (Saber Pungli). Illegal levy eradication is one of the main aspects of government's first law policy package.
Saber Pungli task force was formed under Presidential Regulation No. 87/2016 on The Illegal Levy Task Force and the decision of government regulation No. 78/2016.
“I believe that you (the task force personnel) are able to give your best to do the job; to live a life without doing illegal levy practices,” Wiranto said on Friday, October 28, 2016.
According to him, the law reformation that currently ran by the government highlights a number of main aspects; one of them is the regulation revamp in order to increase the professionalism of the law enforcers.
The Saber Pungli task force is assigned to eradicate illegal levies by optimizing personnel, the task force, and infrastructures of the ministries, institutions, and regional governments.
The four functions of the Saber Pungli are the intelligence, prevention and socialization, action, and judicial justice. “The task force has been given the authority to conduct a sting operation (OTT).”
The Saber Pungli task force basically consists of eight ministries and institutions including their regional units.
