TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Airport tax in international airport Juanda in Sidoarjo will go up on the upcoming November first.
Public relations officer of Angkasa Pura I Juanda, Amon Fitranggono, said that airport tax for domestic flight will increase from Rp75,000 to Rp90,000, while airport tax for international flight will increase from Rp200,000 to Rp210,000.
"This increase is based on a letter from RI Transportation Minister Number PR.303/1/9/ PHB 2016 onpassenger service charge (PJP2U)," He clarified on Saturday (22/10). "It’s for the sake of service improvement."
The increase of airport tax will begin on November 1. Airport officers are trying to spread the word by affixing banners both in the lobby area and on each gate of Terminal 1 and 2. “We have also coordinated with Indonesian Consumers Foundation,” Anom added.
Anom further confirmed that the raise will go to service improvement considering the increasing demands from passengers of Terminal 1 and 2. Such improvement is in the forms of pavement classification number runway, painting markers on airort aprons, building canopy drop zone on Terminal 2. In addition, porter premium service unavailable in other terminals will be made available.
