TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The campaign team of Jakarta governor and deputy candidate Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno, has agreed to sign an integrity pact. The team comprises of personnel from two political parties who endorse Anies-Sandi and three volunteer teams.

“We wish to start a new, transparent, and publicly accountable political era,” Anies-Sandi’s campaign manager Mardani Ali Sera said Thursday at the residence of former Jakarta governor Ali Sadikin’s son Boy Sadikin on Jalan Borobudur in Central Jakarta.

The campaign team will encourage Jakartans to become volunteers. They will be backed by the respective volunteers of Anies, Sandiaga and Boy Sadikin.

Boy Sadikin is a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), who have opted to support Anies-Sandi pairing instead of incumbent candidates Basuki Tjahaja Purnama-Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Boy has been appointed to lead the volunteer teams.

The campaign period for Jakarta election will start on October 28, 2016. The election will be held in February 2017.
