TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police Chief, Inspector General Mochamad Iriawan, said that the Jakarta Police will face a dire task of securing the upcoming Gubernatorial Election.
"We will be all out in securing the election," said the recently sworn in Jakarta Police Chief on Friday, Septemeber 23, 2016. "If the capital is under control, it can serve as a good barometer that the overall regional election goes well."
He said that police and other related state officials will gather in the police HQ to discuss threat potentials ahead of the election. "We are asking for intelligence analysis," he said. "Give us time."
The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election is set to take place in 2017, but the heat is already in as the candidates pose nearly equal qualifications and electability.
