TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commuter Line 1338 en-route from Jakarta Kota to Bekasi has derailed at Jakarta Kota Station at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, resulting in the other trips that were hampered.
“PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) apology for the congestion and queue in Manggarai-Jakarta Kota railway,” PT KAI KCJ Vice President and Communication Eva Chairunisa said in the press release on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
The derailed train is currently undergoing an evacuation process and estimated to be done within the next hour, according to Eva. All passengers have been evacuated to Jakarta Kota Station and continue the trip with a replacement train.
She continued that the train destinations of Jakarta Kota-Bogor, Jakarta Kota-Bekasi, and vice versa could still be made using railway 10, 11, and 12 at Jakarta Kota Station.
The cause of the problem is still unknown considering it must go through an internal investigation process by the team of PT KAI and PT KCJ, said Eva.
