TEMPO.CO, JakartaForeign Affairs Minister Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi met Vice President Jusuf Kalla to discuss preparations for the Non Aligned Movement summit in Caracas, Venezuela in September, 2016.

"Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi has met Vice President Jusuf Kalla to discuss the main issues and programs related to the summit," the Head of the Secretariat of the Vice President, Mohammad Oemar, said on Thursday.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla is scheduled to attend the Non Aligned Movement summit and the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

Foreign Ministry Director General Abi Hasan Kleib remarked that the Non Aligned Movement summit would discuss the challenges faced by member states, as well as ways of cooperation.

Hasan further underlined that the meeting would produce a declaration related to economy and politics.

"The economic declaration is usually about the progress and development or cooperation among Non-Aligned Movement countries," he noted.

The political declaration is related to the stance of the Non-Aligned Movement on political issues, international security situation and regional issues.

With regard to the United Nations General Assembly, Mohammad Oemar said Indonesia had two or three concerns on its agenda.

"The theme of the general assembly is Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting will review ways to implement Sustainable Development Goals. The countries will report the progress in the implementation of these programs," Oemar said.

The vice president was scheduled to attend a high level meeting on issues of refugees and migration.
