TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Carlo Tewu, Secretary of the Dispute Handling and Resolution Work Group (Work Group) for the Economic Policy Task Force (Task Force) said that regional government’s disobedience towards the central government is one of the main causes of implementing economic policy packages.

"The central government's policies are not being followed up by regional governments. For example, there is still a dualism in the implementation of tax objects in the hotel business. And why people must have licenses to install parabolic [antenna]?" Carlo said on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.

In addition, Carlo argued that regional government authorities often committed misconduct in implementing economic packages. "We will coordinate this with regional governments and the Home Affairs Minister to solve the issue," Carlo said.

Sofjan Wanandi, the Vice President's expert staff said that the main problem of the government’s economic packages is regional implementation. "The largest problem is in the regions, many human resources have become the center of problem. We need to conduct a separate meeting to quickly resolve the issue," Sofjan said.

Today, August 23, 2016, the Task Force held another coordination meeting. Meanwhile, the Work Group had received as many as 70 cases. As many as 39 cases have been resolved, with 32 of them handed over to respective ministries/institution, four cases handed over to the Work Group II and Work Group III, and three cases were neglected because the plaintiffs were not present.
