TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Armed Military Force's (TNI) Regional Command Chief Major General Teddy Lhaksmana said that his personnel are ready to secure the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIFE) in Jakarta on August 2 to 4, 2016.
Some 10,150 armed forces personnels are ready to secure the event. The security objective is to overcome the possibility of traffic accidents, anarchist rally, commotion, terrorism act or misuse of firearms, bomb and explosive materials, sabotage, blockade, ambush, abduction, conventional and transactional crimes.
“This morning, we examined the preparation, and it must be condusive until the event is over,” said Teddy. Security starts from the arrival at the airport, travel route, accomodation, and activity location.
There are 8 countries participating in the Islamic forum, including Tajikistan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Guinea, Sri Lanka, and United Arab Emirates.
The theme of the event is “Decentralization of Growth, Empower Future Businesses”. Those delegations carry a mission to explore and develop the role of macro SME business group in promoting economic growth in various countries.
Teddy said that each corps can not consider themselves to be better than the other, because the escort requires collaboration. “This is not a drill,” said Teddy.
