TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government is ready to auction the electronic road pricing/ERP project. Government official said that the auction will be done after the governor signed the draft regulations on ERP.
"At present, the ERP regulation draft is going through a verbal process at governor's hands," Transportation Department chief Andri Yansyah said on Monday.
Andri said the regulation draft will include technical provisions, such as ERP implementation mechanisms, tools and technologies used, implementing rules, as well as financial penalties for offenders.
Prior to the drafting, the Jakarta administration held auctions for companies interested to work on the project. So far, 12 companies have sent a letters stating their readiness to take on the project.
Zulkifli, head of the ERP Technical Management Unit at the Jakarta's Transportation Department, said the project would cost Rp2 trillion to Rp3 trillion. The project's bid winner will be asked to fully fund the procurement of equipment and supporting infrastructure.
Zulkifli estimated that the ERP infrastructure construction will take one year. "Hopefully it will operate by 2017 or early 2018," he said.
