TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) is the only sharia bank appointed by the government to accommodate repatriated funds from the tax amnesty program. BSM president director Agus Sudiarto said that his company would be ready to accommodate a total of Rp 10 trillion (US$769 million) of repatriated funds after the contract signing.

According to Agus, BSM is currently disseminating the tax amnesty program both internally and externally. In addition, the BSM management is preparing infrastructures that will accommodate taxpayers to repatriate their funds.

“We can offer BSM excellence as a sharia bank,” Agus said on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Agus revealed that several taxpayers had expressed their commitment to repatriate their funds through BSM.

In order the provide instruments in the capital and insurance market, BSM will synergize with other Bank Mandiri’s financial institutions, such as Mandiri Investasi, Mandiri Sekuritas and Axa Mandiri. Outside Bank Mandiri group, BSM will cooperate with investment manager company BNP Paribas.

One of BSM products is mudharabah muqyyadah on balance sheet (MMOB) where investors can deposit funds to be invested in instruments based under mudharabah or the Islamic profit sharing agreement.

BSM has prepared 54 outlets of banking priority in Aceh, Batam Medan, Pekanbaru, Pematang Siantar, Jambi, Palembang, Bekasi, Bogor and Jakarta to serve taxpayers registered in the tax amnesty program.
