TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Finance Ministry announces that its minister's regulation, a derivative rule of the Tax Amnesty Law, is being finalized by the Tax Directorate General. The regulation will also be discussed with the ministry's Law Bureau.
The ministry's secretary general Hadiyanto said that the regulation will be ready by Monday.
"More or less there are three—at least three finance minister regulations. By Monday they should be put into effect," he said here on Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Met after a coordination meeting about the Tax Amnesty Law judicial review at the Finance Ministry building, Hadiyanto told taxpayers not to hesitate in joining the tax amnesty program despite it being contested with a judicial review.
"By Monday, we will be ready to serve taxpayers who wish to register, make a statement, or pay their tax ransom," he said.
On June 28, the Tax Amnesty bill was passed and ratified into a law by the House of Representatives. The tax amnesty period begins on July 1st and ends on March 31 next year.
The state is targeting a tax amnesty proceed of Rp165 trillion, as stipulated in the 2016 amended state budget.
On July 31, the The One Justice Foundation (YSK) and the Society of Indonesian People's Struggle (SPRI) filed for a judicial review for 11 articles in the Tax Amnesty Law to the Constitutional Court.
The government has established a team of lawyers to defend the law.
